the graphics
All my graphics are made by me (really? yes.) using both GIMP, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, and most recently a trial Photoshop. I started using Adobe about two years ago, and then two summers ago I downloaded GIMP. It's amazing. Anyone who is vaguely familiar with putting together pictures, even if you've just been using Paint, ought to try it. You can download it here. Yeah. So that's that.I started making graphics because I visited this amazing forum called Arwen-Undomiel. The people there had the most incredible graphics I'd ever seen. So me being me, I wanted to give it a shot. And I kept going and going and going like the Energizer bunny. I got a little creative, branching out from my typical banners. I made some blends, fell in love with them, and even tried a few colorizations. Those are pretty fun. It's like a coloring book, except on the computer.
Hm...what else? Sometimes I get asked how I do this or that. I honestly probably couldn't say. I experiment....a LOT. Some of my best stuff has come through a random layer that I stuck in at a random spot. Want advice? Look at what other people do. There are soooo many amazing people that I have drawn from. I also do things I'm interested in. If you want to get a great graphic, make it from pictures that you love. (Hence my LotR, Star Wars, HP, etc.) I guess I'm pretty fast at making graphics. It can take me anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or so, depending. Banners are typically the fastest. Text is a pain though.
